Gemini – variety of options allows for movement
. The focus this month is on communication and movement, especially as expressed in our relating. There is a huge emphasis on innovation – new ideas abound and they are likely to be transformative and inspired (Jupiter in Gemini trines Pluto and sextiles Neptune). This begins a year of making inroads into solving the problems we’ve been meeting in our own lives, as well as potentially for our planet (Jupiter in Gemini until June 2025). Whether we manage to actualise the necessary changes remains to be seen, but that’s not relevant just now; this is the beginning of a new impetus. Now is about accepting that life is what it is, things are as they are right now and that’s where we must begin.
Receiving the gift in reality
. Venus represents the energy of attraction – when we find fault or criticise something we’ve attracted into our lives, we are unable to receive the gift of it (Venus conjuncts the New Moon, just stepping out from behind the Sun, to push ahead through Gemini). Venus is also about human loving – if we profess to love someone, we need to accept them exactly as they are. If we don’t, we are really loving an ephemeral illusion we have mistaken the person for, and the love we feel may disappear any moment they exhibit an ‘unacceptable’ trait or behaviour. The love is not real, and so we will not feel loved in return.
. Acceptance is relaxed, attentive to movement and change – it doesn’t mean we have to approve of what is, that would be a judgement, and acceptance is not about judgement. True love requires a sense of discovery, of knowing that we don’t know a person through and through – is it even possible! But true love doesn’t require that we know them all through, because it accepts the whole – problems and all. Accepting the whole of a person doesn’t mean accepting all their behaviour into our space – it’s about who they are, not what they do. We also need to accept ourselves, and maintain a personal space that allows for authenticity. And this must be balanced by being responsive to the needs of others as well as our own. When we do all this, I feel we are experiencing qualities that will be innate in the Aquarian new human being.
Mental activity – exciting or overwhelming
. Jupiter will be going through Gemini for the next 12 months, encouraging a proliferation of mental activity, lots of thoughts, easily distracted from one train of thought by another idea. With Sun/Moon, Mercury and Venus also in Gemini this New Moon chart, we are introduced to the mental flavour of experience in an expanded Jupiterian way. The ideas of what to do next may come faster than we can follow through, even faster than can be written down. The ‘to do’ list gets longer and with the inner pressure we are all under these days – it could all be too much! Gemini is movement. Too much movement, or too fast, becomes a vibration or agitation, and where the mind runs the activity, the nerves may become frayed. We will need to slow down, and fortunately the energy of action does just that (Mars into Taurus, 9 June)
. With this mental activity as a backdrop to whatever is going on, and whatever feels important to get done, one might well become discouraged by lack of actual ability to move the ideas into action. Our motivation to action will be strong (Mars moving from driving-force-Aries to practical-action-Taurus on 9 June, and squaring Pluto). However, instead of trying to be effective, our best course of action would be getting the body in good shape, and earthing/grounding ourselves. Walking, exercising, gardening, even just tuning in to Nature, will help to slow down any nervous agitation, bringing us into a calmer focus. This first two weeks, we may be building up momentum for necessary action as the Solstice, and the Full Moon, bring a new focus (Solstice is Sun into Cancer, Full Moon next day opposes from Capricorn).
Full Moon 22 June – realisation of what needs to be done
. After talking for two weeks about what we want to happen, from the Full Moon in Capricorn, we may find that empathic connection is more useful, particularly in order to discover how to help and care for those in need – empathy rather than speech (Mercury/Venus and then Sun move into Cancer, 17- 22 June). And throughout mid-June, we will need to check all we hear and are told – find out for ourselves what is true, rather than just believing what is presented (Mercury/Venus and Sun all square Neptune through that transition). On a personal level, make sure that you really do mean what you say. It’s deceptively easy to stretch a point for good effect, and then find someone gets let down because there’s a double booking, or more was offered than can be fulfilled, or there’s been a false sense of how soon changes may come about – and you may be the one doing this. When a planet squares Neptune, there are often misunderstandings, or things not being the way they seemed. We need to be awake and attentive to what IS.
. We need to be alert to when action is required, rather than wearing ourselves out prematurely. Spirit’s timing is clear, and when it doesn’t feel clear, it’s probably not the right time to act. Our job is to allow the energies to flow through us, not trying to grip onto what we thought before, but following new ideas, discussing different possible solutions – in a way we are preparing as best we can for the unknown future. Whatever else one may say about this time, everything continues moving fast for a while longer. We are all in this, so truly there is nothing to fight about. People want to be safe, but our bodies are our best stability, and contact with Nature will help to keep us steady. And within your body, you are in the perfect place to expand from dark thoughts into the light through the present moment. Do this for yourself, and you do it for all those around you, and for the human archetype.

Contemplation for this New Moon in Gemini
The sky of heaven is blue
Clouds blow up from the sea
bringing rain over the land
growing all species and their food.
Beyond the blue is a universe of stars and energy
bathing us all in star-dust
and an infinity of rays.
The clouds that obscure your light
blew up from the sea of human emotions
and rain in your life to grow you.
Open your thoughts from your troubled life
to encompass the myriad forms beyond understanding
The wind of wonder will blow your mind clear
releasing the wings of your heart
to fly with love
into the blue . . .
With love,
Margaret
Thank you Margaret,
What a beautiful contemplation. It makes my soul sing.
I was just wondering if you have written about the transition to the aquarian age anywhere? I have heard about this but can say I have a full understanding.
Warmest wishes
Eileen

Thank you Margaret. These past couple of months have been hard, especially in the realm of work. I have referred back to thus article many times this lunar month and I have felt things easing at long last. Thank goodness!
