Don’t let your struggle to rise obscure the view you have from where you are.
It’s Light that strengthens efforts to be helpful!
(don’t worry about the astro-jargon – go for the gist)
Virgo – work to improve – scan for the fault
. I wish for this letter to be brief and to the point, ideal Virgo – the first degree of Virgo has high ideals, and little experience as to what happens when you try to reach them in one go! Virgo follows Leo, endeavouring to make the glowing heart knuckle down and get on with some useful work. But first one must scan the mess that has accrued while we were enjoying Earth’s bounty. Looking over the destruction and spoilage, to ascertain if there’s anything recoverable, Virgo’s desire is to re-build in such a way that the destruction doesn’t happen again. It’s a tall order, but Virgo has the focus and the intention that attracts solutions – once the bits and pieces have been sorted through.
Virgo – examine the details, without being distracted from our purpose
. Insofar as we’ve become used to living over a rubbish pit, we may not see the need to make the deep changes that Virgo insists are necessary. Virgo has a tendency to raise the bar too high for comfort, and then feel not up to the task of doing the work. So arguments may arise as to what actually needs to be done, and what could perhaps be left undisturbed – except that’s not likely these days! The chart shows this New Moon getting its instructions from that pattern of distant planets that’s moving along with us these months, like stars tracking the night traveller (Pluto sextile Saturn/Neptune sextile Uranus). These instructions are to notice how you feel, what in yourself and your life might be out of date, to be released only by a conscious change in personal attitude or reaction pattern. It may well be a spoken word, or idea expressed on the internet, that shocks us into realising the extent to which our unconscious influences the direction of our lives. We may find that we automatically say certain things, which we no longer actually believe. We often hold ourselves trapped in circumstances we no longer agree with, through assumptions we need to drop. We need to wake up to the ways we keep ourselves small. Thinking we are not good enough, we don’t have enough time, someone else should be doing . . . whatever it is our hearts feel drawn towards, but we fear being seen and so hide. This Virgo New Moon suggests this is a great time for starting again, from where we are now, and just taking the small steps that present themselves.
Virgo – analyse what’s useful and what’s not
. Each of us has our own path, and must take responsibility for how we feel and what we choose to do. It’s going ahead with what’s true for our own selves that brings us in contact with like minds and true companions. Virgo clears the decks, sorts the wheat from the chaff, but may forget to let the chaff go! Having taken care of our inner state, we can turn our attention to what needs doing in the immediate surroundings, including caring for the people we connect with (Venus trines Saturn, as he prepares to back out of Aries into Pisces again on 1st September). As Venus moves from Cancer to Leo in the next two days, we are likely to find that encouraging light-heartedness and loving fun, warmth and joy, is more effective than pouring our heart’s energy empathically down the well of human suffering. It’s the Light that strengthens efforts to be helpful. There are times for contemplating the darkness in all things and people, but now is not that time.
Virgo – the most efficient way to do things
. The Full Moon on 7 September will be totally eclipsed by the shadow of Earth exactly between Moon and Sun (a Lunar Eclipse on the North Node, 15 Pisces, at 18:13 Universal Time). Whether we see it or not, we are all affected by the reflected light of the Sun being cut off from any point on our Earth, in the same way that we are all affected by cruelty, even when it’s not on our doorstep. The Earth’s shadowing of the North Node suggests that material events are obscuring the larger purpose of present changes. What we need to remember through these times is that each one of us has within us a spark of the source of all light, and so when that source seems blocked from us, we ourselves are still able to let the light shine into dark places. This means we need to be conscious of that level where we are beings of light ourselves. Wherever material negatives shadow our thinking or feeling, our light sharing will be dimmed to that degree. The knack is to be in the present, focused exactly where we are, and trusting that spirit will be in all that unfolds, even though we can’t know how that will look. Be as relaxed and connected and peaceful as possible and, although not thinking is hard to achieve, we do have the choice of what to think about, which is what generates our emotional atmosphere.
Virgo – organise the parts to enable wholeness
. Virgo in principle can be aware of all the parts on every level, so that the best outcome for all can unfold naturally, nothing left out, nothing forgotten. The laws of natural growth demonstrate such inclusion – the dance of life on Earth. Although as a Zodiac sign, Virgo is ruled by Mercury (our thinking, communication and movement) it’s not through the brain’s calculating skill that we fulfil this principle. What happens is that the dance of life flows, and our Mercury tunes into that movement. Mercury’s sign and House in our own chart, shows our way of tuning in, shows us what we home in on as necessary, and suggests how we might best flow with All of it. Virgo is like the gardener who respects every level of the plants in her care, why he is growing them, what they need, creating safe places for the vulnerable and boundaries around the rampant. One can only recognise the useful from the distractions by tuning in, and in the end being guided by Nature and Light, and accepting that the results will be fulfilling the needs of the totality of Life.
Is all the above brief and to the point as I wished?
. Well, not brief! And what point did I want to make anyway? Perhaps I set the bar too high, and consequently struggle to reach it. Like me, perhaps you too need to lower your bar, and breathe. Relax, we are in process – three of the outer planets still have to go back into water and earth signs for a few more months. From 2026, they will bring us into this future we’ve been contemplating. The next New Moon will be in the last degree of Virgo, so we’ve got this month to explore clearing our space, inner and outer, discovering what works and how we hinder ourselves. Our best course is to discover and maintain the ways we connect to the Light and Love that is within us, and share the Peace that contact brings.
Bless you – bless us all . . .

Contemplation for this New Moon in Virgo
Know that your desires are received in the wholeness of Life –
you are not forgotten.
Even though the movement of life is vast
so that the small seems ignored for the whole,
you are accompanied through your complicated life
constantly with Love and Compassion –
it is not spirit that raises the bar too high!
Let not your struggle to rise
obscure the view you have from where you are.
Rest, contemplate, enjoy each other.
Other times are on the way.
With love.

So very, very relevant to me.
Thank you Margaret. I don’t say that to you often enough, largely because I don’t really have a comment beyond being very very grateful to you for these emails.
Bless you and your work, Patsy.
I have listened to this multiple times. So comforting and strengthening, Margaret. Thank you so much! The Contemplation is beautiful. With love, Sam
