Choose the emotional current of the Source by focusing on goodness.
(don’t worry about the astro-jargon – go for the gist)
Pisces – beauty in waves, darkness in depth – all one ocean
. Like all other astrologers, what I’m noticing in this New Moon chart is the huge amount of Pisces quality the planetary energy is expressing. Pisces is the movement of the ocean, the deep unstoppable currents that it is impossible to change, and difficult to navigate – it’s a good representation of the collective unconscious. I think we’re all feeling the pulls, the hot and cold emotional flows triggered by whatever the events may be that the news media choose to report, and those they don’t report that still affect us. It is this underbelly that can be seen right now, and it’s emphasised by a new opening for growth that has just called to us again (Jupiter moving forward again through Cancer) after 4 months of feeling slowed down, held back from fulfilling our previous plans.
. So we stir ourselves to make the moves that will change our lives for the better, and being more self-motivated, we wake a little from the distractions constantly served up to capture our attention (Jupiter squared by Venus in Aries). Pulling back a bit from the semi-conscious mental scrolling through life, we get a better sense of the whole flavour, and recognise perhaps that what has been going on under the surface waves was, and still is, the precursor of the present state of the world as a whole (Mercury retrograde on the North Node in Pisces trining Jupiter). This is not so we can blame anything or anybody, but to recognise, each in our own lives, how our previous behaviour, attitudes and desires have brought us into the situation we now individually find ourselves. Worth pondering on – before we let it go, and then deal with what we have now in true Aries fashion. The South Node of the Moon shows what we need to bring forward from all that experience, and Virgo indicates that it’s our ability to discriminate what is useful from what is a hindrance to growth. Not just what works for ourselves, but how we can use that to help others improve their life also. Past experience in service to life’s natural unfolding.
Awareness is the tool of change
. This New Moon is at the end of Pisces, asking us to hold the whole picture – there is much more going on in the darkness than the bit we know about. An example to bear in mind is the function of sharks: although we focus on the danger, to be avoided at all costs, their fiercesome behaviour is actually eating up the debris of the near-dead and decaying before it fouls the water, keeping the ocean clean for the rest of creation. Nature has a place for everything – what overgrows is checked back by something else, and the whole is moving and growing in ways that may be beyond us to fathom, definitely beyond us to control.
. This whole month is definitely a time for looking back to see what we may often have dreamed of doing. At the same time, we may notice that an addictive pattern would arise, and nudge our focus off course, consuming our life energy, leaving us weak and motiveless (Mars through Pisces until 9 April into Aries). Don’t try to change all this, but ponder deeper than your usual limits, and without judgement, because your awareness is like a shark, and soon the patterns of behaviour will evaporate.
Accept the present – release the past
. Solutions will be arising from the depths of your soul right through till the next New Moon on 17 April (retrograde Mercury moves forward again on 20 March, into Aries 15 April). During this time, we support our inner growth best by accepting things as they are, and releasing that of the past we have been holding on to (Sun/Moon sextile Uranus). What comes next is not yet known, but it will be the shape and style of the next step on our life path, and our souls will rejoice.
. Following this Pisces New Moon, we have the Equinox on 20 March, the time of equal day and night. The Sun moves into Aries at this point, so while all the Pisces flux is going on deep within us, there may well be a sense of newness having already arrived. We may dream of what we would like to come, but it’s not for us to try and change the whole thing ahead of its own timing (Saturn with Neptune in Aries). However, with Jupiter speeding up from stationary, the inner pressure to do just that is on!
Plans are dreams, results are what works
. At the Full Moon on 2 April, the Sun and Moon state again the eternal puzzle of living in the material world: the paradox ‘If all this is purely from my perspective (Aries), how am I am to relate with you and my surroundings? (Libra)’. In this chart, both Sun and Moon are being challenged by Jupiter in Cancer, which emphasises the dichotomy particularly in our family relationships. A thought to remember is that each of us is responsible for our own experience – so in our wholeness, we don’t owe anything to anyone. Family issues may arise like never before, but by the Full Moon, Mercury will be assisting us from Pisces’ universal wisdom: with empathy, patience and above all love, old issues may at last be sorted out and put to rest – and for ‘family’ issues, read ‘humanity’ or ‘the cosmos’, there is no limit to Pisces’ reach.
. The solutions may include physical re-organisation, separations in space, and the second half of the month is likely to necessitate adjustments that are painful – separation, loss and grief (Venus into Taurus from end March, squaring Pluto, and all the outer planets by connection). Venus in Taurus concerns our felt connection with all things physical, including the body, health, the physical proximity of who and what we love, finances, the earth and Nature. But clinging to anything outside ourselves is nailing our spiritual life to the cross of matter.
To love truly is to know you are loved
. The resolution to the pain of loss is to return to ones own soul embodiment, and our connection with Nature herself – and discover that nothing real is ever lost. This shift of focus inwards is necessary, because it allows us to become aware of the true spiritual connection with Source opening within our energy field – remembering ourselves as conduits for our own spiritual energy infusing our world. It is not hard to do once we acknowledge the healing power of life itself, just let go of trying to control. Trust the Source, and enjoy what we may of what is around and within us.

Contemplation for this Pisces New Moon
Dear Ones,
We are all doing so well, letting the Light through!
Never be disheartened – the Light is growing every day.
It cannot be put out, and darkness shrinks away.
No matter what you see or hear outwardly,
listen inwardly and trust.
Light is what is, along with Love and Joy.
They do not disappear because you can’t feel them
It is your awareness that shrinks into darkness,
not darkness that grows!
There is no need for that, aside from human frailty.
How we love you, and will help you up whenever you fall
if you will allow us.
We are together a team,
you are known by us as friend and partner,
and those you love on earth are cared for equally.
Never fear for another, simply remember
the Light is around them too.
All is held – healed.
With love.

Thank you so much, Margaret, for your uplifting words. I am feeling this powerful energy that can prompt us to change our relationships and to listen to the call of the soul.
My son is leaving his marriage of 20 years because he has realised he is not living his truth. I admire his courage and know that he is going to find himself and it will be joyful.
His astrology is so clear – Chiron return (exact), transit Uranus square natal Mc, transit Pluto square natal Uranus and progressed Moon conjunct progressed Pluto in Libra. He has a natal Yod to Neptune so maybe this is being triggered too.
I am so grateful for the astrology you have taught me and the light it shines on our understanding.
love and light,
Jinny xx
Lovely to hear from you, Jinny. The astrology certainly sounds transformational, and he would know what’s right for himself right now. We are so impacted by the feelings and acts of those close to us – and what’s happening in the world too. Remembering the truth of Love and Light is such clarity! Blessings.
Thankyou Margaret, very helpful interpretation. Much love, Sheelah
Thank you for this. I found it very comforting and am happy to apply your suggestions to my daily experience.
