Capricorn Solstice is the end of Sagittarius’ adventure

.       Sun, Venus and Mercury have been in Sagittarius for several days already, festive celebrations in the daily energy mix. For the last two days the Moon has joined them all and meets the Sun very near the end of Sagittarius, where we are looking towards the centre of our Galaxy. The next day 21st December is the Solstice (winter in the Northern Hemisphere, summer in the South), as the Sun gently enters Capricorn; our feet in the ground, taking responsibility for what is ours, manifesting our energy as the life that surrounds us, and bringing the fruits of Sagittarius into manifestation. Having the New Moon so close to the Solstice suggests that its flavour will be the background to the three months leading to the next Equinox. So what is that flavour? Sagittarius adventures into the cosmos, through the Galactic Centre, heart hope-high, searching for meaning in life. And the journey starts in communion with our deep Earth Mother at the Solstice, finding the stillness deep within.

.       Sagittarius being at right angles to Pisces, the challenge for humanity’s present search for meaning finds every idea with consequences that seem to lead away from the chosen goal (Sun/Moon Venus square Saturn/Neptune); the visions we harbour for a better future seem impossible to achieve without more of the conflict we want to avoid. The problem is that we vision our future based on what we know, and that’s the very thing Saturn and Neptune are indicating humanity needs to let go – this is their last trawl through Pisces for a long time. Can we grasp their combined wisdom in the steadfast commitment of personal strength towards sensitive gathered communities, all connecting in a natural framework?

Let activity whirl around your still inner observer – and enjoy it all

.       By now we have probably shifted our memories and relationships around enough to see what went wrong, and what we usefully learned from that, and what we gained when things went right – that is, all based on what we personally suffer from or enjoy. So we mainly know what’s there in our lives and, hopefully, what we are expressing that keeps it there. Now the work is just to forgive ourselves, having compassion for the difficulty and the pain that may have directed our efforts and caused our results. And to appreciate that what we’ve learned can change our results if we manage to follow through, keep our inner agreements and not fall back into apathy or victim-mode as we transit any sense of waiting. This time can feel like we’re gathering in the lobby of a grand hotel waiting for we know not what! Or maybe as though we’re setting up our market stalls in the field outside the lord’s castle – preparing for ‘the great day’ whenever that may turn out to be.

.       This time is full of practical activity (Mars just into Capricorn) as our energy is focused on fulfilling arrangements. While Sagittarian energy could be coping with many relationships at once, or even dealing with the memories that rise as old relationships re-surface, and chat recalls younger times. Sagittarius fire is like an old bonfire that has spread wide, and flames re-kindle here and there in the evening breeze. The gathering of experience to share and discuss, to see where it may lead. The lord and lady (Saturn and Neptune) will arrive in Aries at last we know, but we don’t know what will be their mood, or what they will bring for us to negotiate – roll on January and February 2026!  Whatever does manifest, make sure to find out exactly what it is and what it means rather than relying on first reactions.

Stay open – strong within, and open to Life energy

.       It’s majorly important that we don’t sink into feeling we are unable to be ourselves, say what we truly think and feel, and do what our hearts feel is right (Sun/Moon/Venus trine Chiron – while Jupiter squares Chiron and trines Saturn/Neptune). Anything is possible, but we can’t hope to solve the difficulties unless we are well focused inside our strength, and open to being inspired by the Light. This is the Ascension we’ve been waiting for – rising consciousness within each one of us, and it doesn’t take the whole world to do this, just a goodly number of us who are already on the way. The energy pouring into and through the Earth at this time, is washing away much of historic heaviness. It may reveal what looks worse but has been hidden, and we mustn’t fall into blaming the Light for what it shows us. What has grown in darkness is being revealed – more and more of humanity are seeing this, the next major shifts will be shaking it loose.

.       One of the problems of having our internet use ‘cookied’ and copied back to us, is that we all become more and more enmeshed in our original views, with less and less information or news fed to us from other points of view. It becomes an effort to get a rounded view of what the global situation may be, and to keep our feet on the ground while sensing we don’t really know what’s going on. So we need to stay rooted in our hearts and open in our minds, grounded in Being, if we are to connect with each other in any kind of authentic way. Emotional reactions to a view that is not your own blocks any growth, learning or understanding that could have developed. Not that we must agree with everything we hear, but someone’s thoughts and beliefs are not who that person truly is. We end up fighting ghosts, ‘tilting at windmills’ like Don Quixote in his dementia, rather than seeing each person as Life’s adventure through the experience of being that person. From an awake heart, one can see the life in a person’s eyes, and it is the most delightful thing to connect with another’s life energy if we dare. I speak for myself, with love.

Which way will it go? Go with growth – open doors.

.       The last Full Moon found the Sagittarian Sun dancing between Mars and Venus, as though the heart was keeping space between attraction and action. This next Full Moon on 3 January, finds Mars and Venus tight either side of the Sun like the heart’s wings in the middle of Capricorn. This looks to me more like a full commitment in relationships, with community becoming family as the Moon opposite in Cancer approaches Jupiter. Perhaps the sense of family is what makes a community coherent, where it is natural to care for those who might have been outliers before. This feels like coming together – so it remains to be seen what happens to reflect Saturn/Neptune striking off into independent Aries. Whatever that may be, the Sun and Moon are in harmony with humanity’s path right now (sextile and trine North Node/South Node). And we’ve a way to go before freedom becomes assumed. For now we need to notice the immense freedom we have in how we choose to react to changing circumstances (Sun/Moon quincunx Uranus in Taurus, Venus quincunx Jupiter).

.       This month, and perhaps beyond, we have the work of giving space to all manner of views and opinions, allowing for change being the major theme of the moment, so none of it is certain. The wonderful opportunity that such flowing movement offers is a space for the pure creativity of spirit – focus on anything you’ve been wondering about doing in the future, what excites you, or even just wondering what it might be – perhaps give yourself the gift of some time to focus on this for interest, for fun, for inspiration from the Source to play with your heart and mind. And by the way, if we are physically what we eat, we need to take good care of our farmers who produce it!

Within your heart there is a garden
where many flowers grow
veg to nourish, seeds feed the birds
all is moving, breathing, alive.
Meditation encourages the morning sun to rise
and flood the garden with living light.
Empathy for others brings rain to feed the growth.
And somewhere – in the middle maybe
there grows a wonderful tree
whose roots reach down through your feet
and branches meet the stars above your head.
Tend your garden daily, and then rest,
back against the tree,
and connect heaven and earth
through your heart.
