Be real – and be present at the same time.
Inner and outer, meeting face to face, there’s the one true relationship which governs all others!
(don’t worry about the astro-jargon – go for the gist)

New Moons trigger our emotional reactions
. Since 2023 when Pluto actually started its movement from Capricorn to Aquarius, the other distant planets have also been lining up to change sign, and now we are in the thick of this shift, as Saturn joined Neptune to move from Pisces to Aries. You know this, so why am I mentioning it again now? Well, this last few months has been really intense and I can see astrologically another reason that might be. New Moons happen just less than 30 degrees apart, each New Moon a little further back in its sign than the last. Since July this year the New Moons have been at the beginning of Leo, then Virgo, and then the end of Virgo. This New Moon is at the end of Libra, the next one a little further back in Scorpio, and so on.
. The point of this is that each of these New Moons have been on the cusp between two signs, and therefore have had a direct focus on the outer planetary sign shift, the massive changes that are happening worldwide, triggering our reactions. So – at each of the recent New Moons, the human experience has lurched towards these great changes, and with the following Full Moon, we’ve tended to fall back into a sense of things just not following through as expected; until the next New Moon when another lurch forward is felt. It’s the astrological description of how life feels these days, and I think it’s general, of staggering through life, from one polarised viewpoint to another as more and more is discovered or revealed. For those with a fixed viewpoint, each positive forward-going New Moon month will have been followed by a New Moon month that brought problems, frustrating or blocking, or puzzling. I think we need to be flexible and inclusive in our thinking, and just navigate whatever effects the changing world situation has in our personal lives. We need to accept that final outcomes are unknown just now. The last New Moon at the end of Virgo would have lined up with the big changes and felt like positive movement forward. This New Moon at the end of Libra is at odds with the big changes – I’ll say how in a minute – and the next New Moon at the end of Scorpio is likely to be massively revealing in a way that could feel painful, but should be very positive!
Libra – know how you feel
. This New Moon, being at the end of Libra, feels as though it’s calling us to get things in balance, that mis-deeds should be paid for, that people should receive their ‘just deserts’. And yet the outer planets (apart from Pluto) are moving into their retrograde time, going back into reminding us what we haven’t sorted out yet. We are facing in ourselves the recognition that we not only can’t make the future happen the way we want, but we don’t really know how the change to a better world can actually happen! This month’s challenge for us to not despair, to practise inner balance where one realises that in the world of duality there will always be the to and fro, this way and that, at least two views of everything. Libra represents the scales with two pans continually moving up and down – each one of us holds the scales of our lives, and they need to move while connected at the fulcrum, which is the balance point inside us. Our heads need to be balanced on top of the spine, so to speak, rather than leaning in any direction away from that centre point!
Knowing your emotions as energy is useful
. The Sun and Moon at the end of Libra are at right angles to both Pluto and Jupiter who are opposing each other; Jupiter is in Cancer, so this need for balance refers to emotional balance – we are likely to feel triggered by events, and the speeches and acts of those with power. Mercury (mentality) is close to Mars (drive) in Scorpio, and in wonderful harmony with Jupiter and Neptune, we’ll be able to tune in smoothly to the darkness beneath our ‘laws’ and unfair societal structures (Saturn) and also hammer at the uncaring treatment of the weakest in our communities (Jupiter in Cancer), there is likely to be lots of frustration, rage and fear expressed. So let’s keep calm ourselves – not to suppress our real responses, but also not to express regardless of circumstances. We need to be aware of our emotions and also feel into what expression is needed in our world, and then let that energy flow into helpful positive speech and/or action. This way we keep abreast of events and help the forward movement, without being distracted by argument or fights. As long as some of the emotional field flows a positive way, more will be drawn along, because in the totality of things, the movement that is happening is positive.
Make the most of this pause – with love
. By the Full Moon in Taurus on 5 November, Neptune will be back in Pisces with Saturn, hopefully inspiring a sensitive approach to necessities, rather than just confusion. Uranus will be back in Taurus from 8 November, and from January onwards the future should unfold without having to keep lurching back ito the past (Saturn into Aries for the next two years). For now Jupiter, still in Cancer, begins his four months retrograde on 11 November. Every year we have a 4-month hold back on the growth of our projects where we get to check over and improve the plans – this time Jupiter’s backward appearance coincided with the outer planets experiencing where they’ve just come from. We are pulled back into the past, our early conditioning, remembering where our parents were not the angels we might have preferred, and the history of situations that resulted in inequality – as Jupiter is in Cancer there is likely to be a huge emotional reckoning.
. One thing to remember always, is that none of us has the whole picture, and it behoves us to be open to learning from others the bits, or even vast areas, we may have missed. There is a good chance that people will be more open to change from 5 November, through the month following the Scorpio New Moon on 20 November, which is in tune with the great shift. This month, though, discoveries could well lead to better planning for a kinder future (Mercury/Mars into Sagittarius). Meanwhile, Venus in this Full Moon chart takes the uncomfortable place that the New Moon occupied two weeks before, but this time there is a greater possibility that love and gentleness soften the approach towards individual needs (Venus at the point of a yod pattern from Neptune sextile Uranus).
Let go of whatever hides your soul from you
. For the moment, we are wading through loads of karma, stuff brought into the present that we need to leave behind; wading also through those who’ve died thinking there was nothing to follow death of the body. Who knows what personal karma we each carry, and group karma? And national karma? And humanity karma? Earth is not an easy place to live, but it’s beautiful, and physicality is amazing – to pull air into these lungs and support Life in this little body! And that’s not all – the purpose could be the transformation of our equipment whereby our personalities may better link with each and every other one, so that our souls may be free to expand and become the best humanity is created to be. Better just forgive others, and ourselves, and be present with what’s here now – the soul knows best . . .
Dig deep, own up to your humanness –
only then are you in a position to express your soul.

Contemplation for this New Moon in Libra
The one relationship to take care of
is that which you have with the outside world,
which so perfectly reflects you back to your inner self
as a mirror. Therefore, love what you see,
let go of thinking you know all about what you see –
you are a mystery to yourself.
This time of confusion and change
offers the perfect moments to be real, and here.
Drop away the rags of identities you’ve taken on,
they shield the light within from the world,
suggesting you are fine as you were,
and you wish for the world to be as it was.
Do not strain to go back – relax
The flow is taking you where you need to be
and where your love is needed.
Deeply, all is well.
With love.
