Ask ‘What would I do in the light?’ and all will be clear.
Be guided by Love.
(don’t worry about the astro-jargon – go for the gist)
This New Moon is a Solar Eclipse
. This Moon is crossing the Sun exactly, but it’s dark disc will not obliterate the fire of the Sun’s flaming aura shining out around it’s edge. They will be at the end of Aquarius, indicating the direction of our growth over the next two thousand years plus, the Age of Aquarius. This is the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Horse in the element of Fire. The energy of the Fire Horse is wonderfully reflected through astrology in both Neptune and Saturn together having just migrated from Pisces to fiery Aries – an angelic blessing, and a call to manifest with Aries energy. I have this vision of a trapeze artist (you or me!) having just spent the last few months swinging on one trapeze preparing to leap. At last we leap! Now – caught mid-air in the gap between trapezes, reaching for the next one, with only the angels as a safety net below. And we don’t know exactly where the next one is. So let’s see how the chart suggests we live this bit . . .
Fear not – we are held by the Source of all
. Shocks and surprises are the order of the day as Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, is squaring the Solar Eclipse from Taurus, suggesting that sudden physical overturns are likely personally and globally. Even if we ourselves are not directly affected, we are likely to be drawn into changes one way or another, maybe through friends or local circumstances. If we react with fear of loss, or a sense it shouldn’t be happening, we attract our fears into the world, we create fear around ourselves and others and it all gets manifested. We really need to shift our attitude. Everything is held lovingly within the movement of nature restructuring what has been badly out of alignment with natural growth.
. The Source manifests through all that we are, that everything is, and this is the fundamental truth of existence. Our attitudes, especially in the West, have slid so far from remembering this truth, that we’ve built our lives around lies, which of course cannot exist within what’s true. It’s as though we’ve been building right up to the precipice and beyond, with only our assumptions holding our world in the air! Humanity is poised on the brink of seeing the impossibility of continuing this way. Insights arise via Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, that are encouraging us to let go of the old fixtures of our lives, and start to rebuild our own understanding of ourselves from scratch.
. This time is a fantastic opportunity to draw a line behind us, leaving our role identities behind it, and walk forward as we truly feel our inner selves to be. We need to walk towards the best of Aquarius as individuals, observant, calm, gathering those of like mind, or those who are attracted to our movement. Community happens by itself, gathering around moments of need, and positive solutions.
Astrology in action!
. I’d like to share a personal story from a couple of days ago, because it was a wonderfully relevant demonstration of so much in this chart: I drove out into the sunshine to walk our local common land, along with everyone else it seemed. All the parking spaces were taken – one person had even parked on grass beside the parking area, and I thought in a flash, Why not! I drove towards the space and got stuck on a higher grass verge than I was expecting. The back wheels were still on the road, and I couldn’t drive forward or backward! There’s a Saturn in Aries reminder not to act too suddenly without checking facts! – I had to laugh. If I’d looked more carefully, I would have seen that the verge was high, but I was looking beyond it to the destination. Saturn takes things carefully, even in Aries, and will show us why it’s a good idea.
. And community? A woman came over to help, and attracted people one by one who came with advice, concern, looking round for one who could solve the situation. We tried different things, as you can imagine, and eventually a good driver manoeuvred the car onto the grass so I could drive off it – meanwhile a parking space was becoming available for me. By the end we were six, not knowing each other before, pleased or satisfied at the success, and we scattered again. This to me is how Aquarian community happens, drawn to my need by natural human altruism. Everyone plays a part from their own skillset and personality, all different. My job kept changing – first I had to admit to being in need, accepting my mistake, and then receiving conflicting advice, acting on it and failing, but holding a positive intention, and grateful for others’ expertise – and the whole thing was accomplished with good humour and camaraderie.
Learning from mistakes – let life remind you
. I’ve learned so much from that event: firstly the need to be absolutely in the moment, so that changing or anomalous circumstances are not missed. Action can be taken fast and successfully, but we will all need to take care. It’s the difference between being negative from fear, which doesn’t help, and being positive with caution in order to make correct decisions. Over the next week or two following the eclipse, we would do well to favour caution in action because of unforeseen changes.
. Another thing I learned is the wonderful effect we can have on our world when we go forward without fear, with a positive intention, and a warm open heart. We find out others’ gifts when we give them a chance to express themselves, and gratitude expressed from the heart is a wonderful connector (Venus in this New Moon chart is exactly on the North Node in Pisces). This love and openness to others is what humanity needs to find within at this time, and will smooth the experiences that could feel like a storm at sea. Love and gentle speech will smooth the waves (Mercury in Pisces trine Jupiter in Cancer). The Moon rules Cancer, and is eclipsing the bright, potentially cold, Aquarian Sun, so the Sun’s warmth can be seen to radiate around the Moon’s disc.
Full Moon in Virgo – using expertise brought from the past
. On the 19 February, the Sun itself will move into Pisces, and around the Full Moon on 3 March, the Sun will be joining Mercury in its happy connection with Jupiter, emotional, but also caring, and generous help for those in need. Many of us will be feeling the warmth of our community of family and friends. The only possible downside of this would be people drawing boundaries around who is seen as family, maybe choosing to support their nation family, separating from the human race, when boundaries need to be porous rather than restrictive. Mercury has been slowing down ready to appear retrograde in Pisces on 25 February until 20 March, so fast forward isn’t really how we’re going to feel. We’ll be discovering there are too many things hanging about from the past just yet. We may want a more balanced and inclusive life, but how to achieve that is another matter. However, forward momentum begins to wind up through late March as Jupiter turns to go forward on 10 March, taking time to speed up and gathering Mercury at the beginning of April. Not until the middle of April will Mercury leave Pisces for Aries, and our thoughts, words and actions line up with the sense of new beginnings that we’ve had since the beginning of the year.
. What’s so good about this slow beginning is that we still have time to line up with our souls’ direction, what’s right for each one. Some manoeuvring while finding what does, and does not, suit us, may be uncomfortable for some relationships. But feeling right about our companions as well as relationship with our soul, is all part of preparation before innovative changes. The Contemplation that came to me (below here) points out that just because we don’t feel radiant with spirit when dealing with the problems of life, doesn’t mean that it’s not shining through our hearts as soon as we pay attention to it. It’s always there as the joy of life when we allow the present to be our closest reality. The last paragraph of the last letter where I was looking ahead, is now absolutely relevant:
. Whatever you find yourself aiming for throughout February, be prepared to keep inwardly moving – life may have other plans for us all. Surprising opportunities may arise just when we’ve given up – what is required is an awake open focus, and a willingness to adapt. Even if this doesn’t feel relevant to you yourself, it may be showing up in the lives of people you know. It that’s the case, be like a tree in their landscape, stable and available for support, but focused on your own life. In extremity, we all need reminding that each one of us has angels, light beings, off-planet guidance at hand when called upon, as well as our deep and silent soul.

Contemplation for this Solar Eclipse in Aquarius
The light of day may be briefly dimmed,
but the Moon will not block
the Sun’s glorious crown of flames!
Just so, the blazing light through your heart
is not lost through life’s experience.
Kneel to the spirit within and in all
without fear, for that truth stands triumphant
even as the Moon passes and daylight returns.
So let that vision inform your normal day –
All unfolds as Being in countless forms
and you are the loved child
forever held.
With love.
