The heat is on!

Right through May and early June this year, the energy is for healing the past (Mars travelling with Chiron in Sagittarius). But to heal an old wound, the bandages have to be unpeeled and the wound cleaned out - painful experience! Mars is not known for gentleness, neither is Sagittarius, but the intention is good and the fire of our experiences during this time will surely burn off the dross of old habits that we have been clinging to. What makes us give up a security habit? Don't wait for something that is worse than your fear of insecurity.

Saturn is now in Gemini from 21st April for the next two years, and our life lessons are likely to be about how we communicate. We need to be prepared to examine any precious opinions and attitudes that create difficulty in our relationships. There is always another way of seeing anything, another way of behaving in any situation. It is a sign of greatness to be the first to offer an apology. Stepping down from a painful fight can show the courage of maturity.

In late June and July it should be easier to let go of out-of-date habits and move forward consciously into new behaviour patterns (Chiron will sextile Uranus in Aquarius). That freedom from old reactions will be needed as we move into August, because we will be faced with an opposition between two mighty forces.

In early August, the two great powers of Saturn and Pluto face each other. The apparently inexorable logic (of Saturn in Gemini) will oppose the transformational power of the imagination that is released when belief systems are opened up (Pluto in Sagittarius). On a personal level, you will feel this tussle where your assumptions about what is not possible are at odds with your dreams of what could be possible. (November brings the second challenge in this area, and its solution will be available May 02.) Accepting what is so in your life does not have to mean that it must stay that way. Acceptance of the facts is necessary first, and then the situation can develop. While we deny the facts, nothing can change.

On a global level, Saturn opposite Pluto could be reflecting the growing sense of two great camps: those who follow the authority of the law-makers and policy-makers of the world, and those who are trying to bring great changes to those laws and policies to be more earth-friendly and healthy. The power is in the changes, and any block we experience could simply be our impatience at the time that is needed to discuss our way into the changes without too much destruction. If the block remains fixed in rhetoric, or the power for change becomes too impatient or anarchic, the destruction will be much greater. The more flexible and open the authorities on both sides, the greater will be the focus on construction.

During September and October the energy calms down a bit, allowing a time for some constructive work to be done for those who are prepared to put the effort in (Mars goes through Capricorn). So let's go for accepting how things are without resentment, and then allowing the next steps to unfold towards the possibility of greater satisfaction and fulfilment.

And have fun while you're about it!
with love,
Margaret
