Where the planets move day by day (transiting planetary positions) describes a kind of ‘energy-climate’ that all of us move through as a whole - when it rains we all have to deal with the wet. How we are affected depends on our attitudes and reactions to that ‘climate’. Our attitudes and reactions are largely from our national and race belief structures, our generational background, and our personal predisposition. And, of course, conscious focus and intention give us the opportunity to change – as long as we discover and accept what is going on inside us.

What’s going on?!

‘Well, dear One, what’s happening is an overthrowing of the old order – yes, right now! The old order is the order of your thinking, isn’t it? What else! So it is your own, your very own, thinking that has to be changed.
‘The way this happens is through events in your life reflecting back to you all that which has lain undisturbed over the history of your life. The dust in the attic, so to speak, and under the floors. Your tendency is to not clear that out, isn’t it! So life must reflect it back to you in such a way that you choose to clear it out yourself.
‘The planets give you a clue as to how to do this with the least fuss and difficulty.’

Pluto has been stirring our beliefs about since 1995 on its entry into Sagittarius, and will continue to do this until 2008.
When Jupiter entered Gemini in June 2000, it started expanding all forms of mental activity and communication so that far more could come to the surface than before.

From Christmas 2000 to Valentine’s Day 2001, Mars in Scorpio (which it goes through every two years!) made sure that nothing at the bottom of our pits should remain undisturbed, ousting our last Saturn-in-Taurus fears of insecurity on 4th February. Now we are aware of our fear-driven motivations!

Then Mars ran into Sagittarius to give some more vigour to the Pluto-Jupiter opposition, exact on 18th - 20th February. Of course Chiron got there first in February 1999! And before it leaves this scene of transformation next year, all that has been revealed will be healed of your worst fears - that which holds you back.

So that’s the scene!
What follows is additional to the more detailed account in Current Comments, May – June 2001.
At the beginning of May, Mars caught up with Chiron and they both turned to retrograde together – Mars provoking all the most painful bits where we cling to our beliefs for comfort and a sense of personal value – a big mistake! Our value is our wholeness, our spiritual being that encompasses all that we are on every level. To identify with anything less leaves spaces in our sense of security, connectedness and integrity. Filling those spaces with entertainments to distract, or beliefs that attach us to a group, is the way to remain hollow. Only personal inner worth combines our diverse characteristics into a person of presence.

Now let’s look June 2001.

Mars opposed Jupiter 11th – 13th June first, as it retrograded through the last degrees of Sagittarius – bringing bright energy for a lot of talking to discover what is relevant; the spirit of adventure pushing at the boundaries of the known.
Jupiter then trines Uranus 17th – 19th June - a wild surge of freedom and movement to separate. Jupiter then opposes Chiron at the total eclipse of the Sun on 21st June – potentially a moment of wonderful healing.

The eclipse on 21st June, the Summer Solstice, is at the very beginning of Cancer, focusing attention on our spiritual commitment to express the light in matter – being born a physical child dominated by time and space – growing and flowering as form, so that all that feels separate can be expressed again as One.
Jupiter itself moves into Cancer on 13th July, expanding, through the following year, our awareness of the need for nurturing love in family life.

Saturn will stay in Gemini from 21st April 2001 for two years, helping us firm up and organise all that has been thought and communicated, and bringing further developmemnts in communication technology.

Saturn will trine Neptune briefly in the last week of this June, opening our thoughts to include the benefit of humanity as a whole. Like seeds, ideas will drop into our group thinking, angel ideas to lift us together or to be rejected and separate us further. (These seed ideas will grow into something recognisable when Saturn comes back to turn on this point during January to April 02 completing its Neptune contact.)

From late July to early November 2001, Saturn in Gemini opposes Pluto, the battle between traditional (limited)common sense and visions of a better future, which may degenerate into more attempts to control religious conflict with law and order. (The opportunity for resolutions comes in May 2002, and will require us to be with whatever situation we have in our lives at the time, without judgement.)

On 9th September, Mars moves into Capricorn (opposing Jupiter once more on 3rd October) indicating the energy that pins down and makes solid what has been planned. Perhaps this last quarter of 2001 we will be strengthening our groundwork – getting ourselves in good shape physically – so that adapting to the changes of these times will be smoother and easier.
