Two lessons in communication
The last New Moon was at the very beginning of Gemini, this
one is at the end. Both of these months are about the communication
of ideas and thoughts, but the flavour of each is different,
shown by the patterns of the planets. Last month, the focus
would have been on what needed doing on a practical level
to achieve what we want; slow movement towards expanding our
projects or life style, the logistics of following through
our plans (Mercury, which rules Gemini, was in Taurus
with Jupiter).
This coming month will be more about how we express ourselves
within our more emotional relationships and family (Mercury
is now in Cancer). We will be finding out very fast the
results of our communications, and some of what we get back
may not feel so good (Mercury squaring Saturn). But
we do need to know the effect of our words, and learn to slow
down and consider before sharing our thoughts with others.
When Mercury moves through a water sign (Cancer, Scorpio,
Pisces) our thinking processes are heavily influenced
by our emotions, and it’s worth bearing in mind that,
when feeling down, one is better not making decisions because
they are likely to be regretted later when the mood is more
cheerful, and positive.
Manifesting happens
This month, we are likely to find that what we wish for
manifests quite quickly - Cancer is an emotional sign, and
when we add our emotions to our thoughts, we are using the
power of intention. This is very effective, and needs to be
conscious and deliberate. So take care to think positive thoughts
as much as possible, happy thoughts, kind thoughts, because
the opposite will be very destructive.
Since the beginning of the last week, thoughts and words
will be hugely increased in number (Jupiter now in Gemini).
If your thoughts are worrying, your mind will be like a hamster
on a wheel; if you are trying to explain something, you are
likely to use far more words than necessary. You may find
your mind jumping about between the different areas of your
life, with a host of thoughts about each one. All this mental
activity could easily focus on the present uncertainty about
the future (Jupiter squaring Neptune). These days,
we are open to the feelings of humanity in general, and most
people have difficulty in trusting that things may actually
turn out better in surprising ways.
We don’t have to think in this way - attitudes can
be changed; it takes discipline, but what you commit your
heart to this month will be supported by the universe (Sun/Moon
trines Saturn and Neptune). So, having recognised what
is most important to you (Sun), formulate what you
want carefully (Mercury sextiles Mars in Virgo) and
leave the rest to the ‘angels’ (Neptune).

Being true to your Self changes the world
The major astrological event, culminating for the first time
on 23/24 June, is Uranus squaring Pluto for the first of seven
times over the next three years. It is such a slow movement,
that we’ve been feeling it growing for years (strongest
every June to August for the last several years) and
I think the intensity now is showing up in places like the
football stadiums in Poland and Ukraine, in Syria, and in
the condition of the euro - all situations which, one feels,
just can’t continue much longer!
We are all likely to have an area in our own self, or our
life, where something like that is also showing up - perhaps
a shocking realisation of how we sabotage ourselves or our
relationships in a very negative, but unconscious, way. Once
we’ve seen it, we can never really be the same, and
that is how transformation takes place. We have to wake up,
own up, and appreciate the wider effects of what we’ve
been doing, if we are to open-heartedly embrace a different
way. The old habits hang on tenaciously though - our ego really
doesn’t want to change and will remain blind to evidence,
or justify our position or behaviour in amazingly creative
ways!
The good news is that we have until March 2015 for the probing
force of this aspect to have its full effect! At the risk
of being pedantic, I want to say that current affairs are
not actually the planets ‘having an effect’ on
the human race or individual members of it; I believe the
planets show the energy field that is present - it is up to
us how we choose to respond.
The power of intention (Mercury and Mars), and a
large dose of love (Venus and Jupiter on South Node)
will go a long way towards bringing about the best possible
outcomes - bearing in mind that people don’t know what
we are thinking or feeling if we don’t tell them, and
will very likely reject what is said if it is not kindly and
respectfully put.
Let the sun shine in!
Situations, circumstances, moods, will probably change quite
quickly in the next few days (as Mercury moves into Leo
on 26 June, and Mars into Libra on 3 July). These shifts
are both towards the up-going elements of fire and air, from
the heavier water and earth, which suggests a lift in the
general world mood. The Sun itself moves into Cancer, and
trines Neptune perfectly by 25/26 June, a lovely window for
spiritual energy, which is always attracted to whatever works
for the whole. This is also a good time for appreciating exactly
how others feel, what they are experiencing, what they may
need.
