Last month
– total eclipse of the Moon

I didn’t spot it coming – a total lunar eclipse on 3/4 March. (The full Moon was in Virgo, and the Sun in Pisces was on Uranus, who has been sitting on the North Node for a while - OK, what’s all that about?) The principle of freedom and letting go had such a boost of life that the balancing carefulness of Virgo was temporarily obliterated - a very unstable feeling. Many people experienced huge changes during early March, losses of possessions they had been identifying with, and which they simply had to let go. Those who could let go easily had a great time being involved with completely new activities, and opportunities to live differently. But those who suffered emotionally may still be reeling from the shock (Jupiter’s expansiveness is still close to squaring Uranus so things tend to be more extreme even than one might expect).

New Moon in Pisces (square Pluto)

Until the next New Moon in April, we are likely to be dealing with the results of the above lunar eclipse, but now it’s not just about letting go – we are called on to surrender completely to the new situation. We may have understood what changes we needed to make, and courageously contemplated making them (Mercury in Aquarius sextile Pluto, Venus in Aries trine Pluto). But from this New Moon we will need to put our knowledge into action, particularly in relationships. Once we know what needs saying, or doing, we really do have to follow through, however fearful we may be of results. The point is to express yourself to the people around you, simply so they know how you feel. Perhaps the bit to remember is not to take on others’ emotional problems (Mercury into Pisces) just because they are close (Venus into Taurus). Any depression you may be feeling could be the mass reaction to societal news. It may not be you personally, so instead of getting into how the world ‘should’ be, blast the TV and newspapers with light!

Aquarian freedom
– responsibility and awareness

As always, it’s our ego desires and motivations that give us most trouble. We are afraid to allow ourselves a change of direction, because we naturally identity ourselves with what we have known (Mars in Aquarius opposite Saturn). Letting go is fearful – we want the safety of structures, within which to be free. But it doesn’t work like that – we can only be free when we step into responsibility for the results of our actions. The structures are our own, and we choose how socially congruent they are.

Just feeling our truth in the moment is a important step in growth, but freedom can only develop from being aware of the truth in that moment - not just ‘Woe is me!’ when we feel bad, but ‘Ah – I’m feeling bad.’ Once there is awareness, we can choose to accept the facts, and remedial action becomes possible (Mars together with Chiron).

Grow and adapt before manifesting

Jupiter has now joined in the dance of Saturn opposite Neptune. Jupiter represents the principle of expansion and growth, helping us to make plans out of our dreams. Saturn represents the principle of structure, so the plans are now presented in executable form – that is, we may now manifest our dreams! Only problem is which dreams of the many do we really want to manifest (Jupiter and Saturn in Fire signs offering as many plans as you can imagine). And in our confusion about all this, we could feel we are missing the opportunities.

The advice would be to prioritise, and then focus on the top priority – what do you really want? Having decided what is most important, we need to be aligned, so that we don’t keep vacillating, or returning to out-of-date desires (easier said than done!). Just have a go at what you want to achieve, but don’t worry when it doesn’t happen in the way you expected. At least you’re on your way!

If we don’t manage to get clear this time, there will be other chances ahead (Jupiter trine Saturn twice more), the beginning of May 07, and January 08. The May period will give us the opportunity to hone our ideas, showing us exactly what we need to let go, and where to make improvement (Jupiter will be retrograde April through July, and squaring Uranus again). By January 08, both Jupiter and Saturn will be in earth signs and a sense of commitment will have our efforts manifesting as practical realities.

Confusing times
(New Moon on my Pisces Mercury)

I have felt strangely unable to get this missive out in time. My flight from Orlando was cancelled due to snow further North, and the delayed re-routing took me to the West coast before I could go East to the UK! Coming out of jetlag, my focus needed to be very narrow in order to get post and e-mails up-to-date, never mind the laundry and food-shopping. Does any of this feel familiar?

Anyway, I want to offer you a quote from the Newsletter of a very good healer/teacher I know who channels a group called ‘Heartstar’:

These are powerful, fast moving times in many ways, not easy to negotiate. However, it became clear to me and my guidance that the ‘New Year’, the precise time of which is rather notional and relative, began globally with the emergence of a very new force from 15th – 17th February. This vibrational process, corresponding to the commencement of the Chinese New Year, opens up some wonderful possibilities, and the key word is ‘breakthrough’. It is a time where those who are persistent, disciplined and creative, can effect many changes, reaching goals that hitherto have been extremely elusive, dissolving longstanding barriers to progress and opportunity. Determination and resilience are needed, but exciting new doors can be opened. It truly is ‘Fortune favouring the brave!’ time.

Meditation for this New Moon in Pisces
Let your wings sprout from your shoulders
and stretch far out into space.
Move and flex them, open them far above you
and then, gently, relax them
so that they are round you like an angel’s wings
arcs of light.
Breathe for a while
becoming more and more aware of the presence of your wings.
Now spread them around yourself so that they meet in front of you,
touching together over your head,
joining from top to bottom behind you,
and long feathers meeting beneath your feet.
Practise moving your body within that space so that the wings remain secure
and you are free within them.
Know that every feather is made of the love life has for you.
Keep these wings around you as you move through your every day.
